Jakarta Will Present the Best Health Services through Collaboration with Midwifery Organizations

Jakarta Vice Governor Ahmad Riza Patria attended the VII Regional Work Meeting of the Indonesian Midwives Association (IBI) Jakarta 2022, at the JS Luwansa Hotel, South Jakarta, on Saturday (6/18).

midwifery as a profession, is not only noble but also has a great service

On that occasion, he stated the Jakarta administration is committed to keep providing the best health services through increased collaboration with professional organization partners in the health sector, one of which is IBI Jakarta.

"I support IBI to continuously increase organizational strength, its role in terms of the quality of midwife education, services, improve the welfare of members and realize cooperation with its network. Moreover, midwifery as a profession, is not only noble but also has a great service in helping strengthen the health system in Indonesia, especially for mothers and babies," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

The dedication of the midwives who had positioned themselves as women's partners to provide support, care and advice during pregnancy, of course really helped mothers face childbirth and provide care for newborns. These are all noble tasks to contribute to the success of health development in Indonesia and in Jakarta, especially women's and family health with holistic and sustainable services.

"It can be said, I am a person who was born into this world, not apart from the midwife's services in helping my mother give birth. That's what makes me so respect and appreciate the midwife profession. Thank you for the dedication you have given, to a sustainable life. Because of their dedication and service, our mothers managed to give birth to their babies safely, and the babies that were born could also grow up healthy," he explained.

Until now, IBI has even reached the age of 71 years. A very mature age with a lot of experience that has been passed as a professional organization. Experience is a wealth to face a future full of challenges, one of which is health services in the current era of globalization. Hence, they need to carry out internal consolidation and advocacy to all stakeholders to strengthen the profession and prepare members to face these challenges, such as KIA-KB and Kespro services for the community.

Thereby, he hoped that they could be a forum for midwives to achieve the goals of their professional organizations through policies to strengthen the professionalism of members to ensure that the community gets quality services in accordance with its vision, which is to become a professional organization that is reliable in realizing professional midwives with global standards.

"IBI's basic values must be upheld by members, namely prioritizing togetherness, protection, and providing quality services to mothers and children, with the motto: Ibu Sehat - Anak Sehat - Bangsa Sehat (Healthy Mothers - Healthy Children - Healthy Nation). It must be the commitment of IBI and its staff. I'm also proud of the midwives, who are members of the Jakarta IBI forum and work in health service units in Jakarta," he added.

As for the information, it was also attended by several officials from Jakarta BKD; Jakarta Health Agency (Dinkes); IBI Chairwoman Emi Nurjasmi; Jakarta IBI Chairwoman Sri Indah; as well as speakers and meeting participants.
